MOGILEV INSTITUTE OF THE MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS OF THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS

Mogilev Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus was founded in 1948 as a retraining school of sergeant corps of central administrative board of rail and water transport protection of the Ministry of State security of the USSR. Nowadays it is a modern educational establishment.

It is among the most prestigious educational establishments of the country and occupies one of the leading places in the system of education with the higher legal and special professional education for the law-enforcement agencies of the Republic.

In accordance with the Presidential Decree on the 8th July, 2013 № 307 Mogilev Higher College of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was renamed into Mogilev Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus from the 1st of September, 2014.

Several generations of employees have changed in this educational establishment for the last sixty-five years. Its name and structure have been changed too, but the aim was invariable: to train and educate highly qualified specialists for the law-enforcement agencies.

The Institute implements the educational programs of higher education of the I and II levels. Educational process is provided by teachers, including doctors and candidates of sciences, honored figures in the field of jurisprudence, education and sports. It is proud of its highly qualified teaching staff who are worthy successors of those professionals who stood at the origins of founding and development of the education establishment.

Mogilev Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus provides a system of continuous theory and practical training, modern training facilities. The institute is rightfully considered to be the leading center for training specialists for law enforcement bodies.

The faculties of the Institute are: Faculty of Militia and Faculty of Advanced Studies and Retraining.

The theory and practical knowledge of the students is provided by a number of departments:

Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines

Department of Detective Activity

Department of Professionally-Applied Physical Training and Tactical and Special Training

Department of Criminal Procedure and Criminology, etc.

The ideological work in the education establishment is organized in accordance with the Instruction on the organization of ideological work in internal affairs bodies.

The ideological work is organized on an ongoing basis in the context of daily service activities and professional training in a differentiated manner with all categories of employees. The main coordinator of this activity is the Department of Ideological Work.

One of the components of educational work is a civil-patriotic upbringing, which forms the qualities of a patriotic responsible citizen for the fate of a country, that respects the historical past and national traditions. The regular meetings are held with young veterans of the internal affairs agencies, former warriors-internationalists.

The institute has trained a number of high class law-enforcement specialists who devote their efforts, knowledge and skills to protect peace, law and order in the Republic of Belarus.
